Young people aged between 16 and 21 living in Allerdale, Copeland or Furness were invited to enter our playwriting competition for young people

 

How did it work?

Stage 1
They were invited to come to a workshop with writers Sarah Miller and Ann Wilson to see how the professionals do it, try out ideas and make a start

Stage 2
They got involved with the online support to develop their ideas with the writers

Stage 3
They pitched their script idea for selection

What happened then?
10 scripts were chosen for development, and out of those 10 will come 3 winners who will receive a prize of £500 when the scripts are ready to be produced and toured by The Ashton Group's Theatre Factory.

The first of these scripts is The Big Bang Theory by Jonathan Bissett, which will be produced in March 2010. The other two scripts are still in development and will be produced in autumn 2010 and spring 2011
