Scriptease is an
annual cabaret style evening of readings of new 5 minute
plays created by writers from across the North of England.
In March 2007,
to celebrated The Ashton Group's 10th birthday, we asked
the poet, comedian and presenter Ian McMillan to host the
evening and to perform some of his own work.
Ian hosts Radio
3's The Verb, and is a regular guest on Radio 2's
The Mark Radcliffe Show, BBC 2's Newsnight
and 5 Live. He occasionally partners Paul Merton
on Have I got News for You, and is Poet-in-Residence
for Barnsley FC.
